LTO Region 1 Leads Roadside Emission Testing in Malasiqui

The Land Transportation Office (LTO) Region 1 recently conducted a comprehensive roadside inspection and emission testing operation in Malasiqui on November 26, 2024.

The activity aimed to enhance road safety and reduce environmental pollution through targeted vehicle checks and public education.

Led by Regional Director Glorioso Daniel Z. Martinez and Assistant Regional Director Engr. Eric C. Suriben, the operation was a collaborative effort with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources – Environmental Management Bureau Regional Office 1 (DENR-EMB RO1), the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Malasiqui, and the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO).

This effort supports the directives of DOTr Secretary Jaime J. Bautista and LTO Chief Assistant Secretary Atty. Vigor D. Mendoza II, who have continuously emphasized the importance of creating cleaner and safer roadways.

The operation focused on reducing harmful emissions from vehicles and fostering compliance with environmental laws like the Clean Air Act.

Vehicles traveling through key areas in Malasiqui were inspected for excessive smoke emissions.

Those found to be non-compliant were immediately penalized, demonstrating the government’s commitment to promoting healthier air quality.
