List of Emission Testing Centers in Metro Manila

Owning a vehicle in Metro Manila means keeping up with several important requirements. One of these is Motor Vehicle (MV) Emission Testing.

This testing is a key step in renewing your vehicle’s registration with the Land Transportation Office (LTO).

It ensures your vehicle isn’t contributing harmful gases to the air we all breathe.

This test is mandatory for private and commercial vehicles powered by diesel, gasoline, or LPG.

Whether you drive a car, truck, motorcycle, or van, you’ll need a passing emission test result for registration and renewal.

You can only get this test done at an LTO-accredited Private Emission Testing Center (PETC).

These testing centers are approved by the government to check your vehicle’s emissions.

To help you save time and avoid stress, we’ve created this complete and updated list of LTO-accredited emission testing centers in Metro Manila.

Understanding the Importance of Emission Testing

The government requires emission testing to help reduce pollution.

Vehicles that pass this test release less harmful gases like carbon monoxide and nitrogen oxides.

If your vehicle fails the test, you can’t renew your LTO registration until it’s fixed and retested.

Fees for emission testing typically range from ₱400 to ₱800, depending on your vehicle type.

Recent Updates

12 Emission Testing Centers Suspended for Alleged Fraud in the Philippines

The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has suspended 12 private emission testing centers for 90 days due to allegations of fraudulent activities.

LTO Chief Assistant Secretary Jose Arturo “Jay Art” Tugade ordered the Intelligence and Investigation Division (IID) to launch operations against centers accused of falsifying emission test results for vehicle registration renewals.

IID Officer-in-Charge Renan Melintante identified that images uploaded by the 12 centers to the LTO’s Image Repository Database Server were tampered with or altered.

Show cause orders were issued to the IT providers of these centers, asking them to explain why their accreditation should not be revoked due to possible collusion in the fraud.

LTO Chief Tugade emphasized that such fraud is a clear deception against the government and poses significant risks to road safety, as untested vehicles could lead to accidents and endanger lives.

Warning from DOTr and LTO to Non-compliant Private Emission Testing Centers (PETCs)

The Department of Transportation (DOTr) and the Land Transportation Office (LTO) are fully aware of the fraud and anomalies committed by some PETCs to falsely claim compliance with agency requirements and regulations for private car owners’ registration processes.

For example, manipulating photos of an individual posing beside vehicles to falsely report full appearance during testing will not be tolerated.

Another tactic, such as changing license plates, is also glaringly obvious.

These illegal practices are strictly prohibited, and each violation will result in penalties and fines.

The DOTr and LTO remind all PETCs that they are closely monitoring and will not hesitate to enforce appropriate sanctions, including revocation and blacklisting of operations.

Ensure compliance with the standards set for PETCs to facilitate the smooth registration of motorists’ vehicles.
